I’ve been on YouTube for two years now and it’s no secret that I’ve had my challenges balancing it with my full-time job — and avoiding YouTube burnout. I’ve had to put a lot of effort into staying consistent with my YouTube channel. Through trial and error, I’ve learned some things that have worked tremendously, while others have been epic fails.

I know what you’re thinking - “What?! That’s insane.” The first piece of advice I received about YouTube was to create a schedule of days to post so your viewers look forward to videos. That just doesn’t work for me. Whenever I became too busy with work, I couldn’t stick to my typical Tuesday or Thursday schedule. - Click on your account icon in the top right corner of YouTube and choose settings.

- 100 Subscribers

Here’s how to get your custom URL:
- Click on your icon in the top right corner of YouTube and choose Advanced under Settings / the gear icon.
- If you meet the qualifications above, you’ll see ‘You’re eligible for a custom URL’ under Channel Settings.
- YouTube will show you the custom URL you’re approved for in the Get a custom URL box. You can’t change what’s there, but you can add to the end of it.
- Click Change URL after reading the terms of use.
You can delete your custom URL and claim a new one, but doing this might be confusing for your followers.
